The 144-page book ‘GEORG DOBLER - STUDENTS: Pretty Pieces’ presents a selection of works by jewellery designers at the HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Faculty of Design in Hildesheim.

The book, which was designed and produced by students on the Editorial Design course under Prof. Dominika Hasse and Dipl.-Des. (FH) Tatjana Rabe, gives the impression of a jewellery box that closes with suction, while the partial silver cut finish conveys the principle of jewellery design on a meta-level: raw material is refined and thus changed, enhanced and emotionally charged. Thread-stitched pages of carefully selected paper, with a design surprise under the dust jacket and an inviting endpaper in elegant purple give the contents of this book the right framework to make an impact on the viewer in its individuality. The bilingualism finds its elegant expression in the slightly offset design, the typeface creates an exciting counterbalance to the individual illustrations.
