To mark the 10th Akkuschrauberrennen, we organised a symposium at the Faculty of Design to discuss future mobility scenarios. Leading representatives from the automotive industry, the railway, design theorists and science fiction authors were invited to take part: Klaus Bischoff (Head of Volkswagen Design), Michael Erlhoff (design theorist and author), Johannes Zück (Smart Cities, Deutsche Bahn AG), Stephan Rammler (Professor of Transportation Design and Social Sciences), Michael Schreckenberg (Professor of Theoretical Physics, Physics of Transport and Traffic), Alan Shapiro (media scientist, science fiction theorist)
We discussed questions with them such as: What are possible approaches for future mobility concepts? Can future scenarios make us rethink? What can design in particular do? What can universities do to solve these problems? This event will not focus on the problems, but on desirable solutions and future scenarios that will transport mobility into a future worth living.
The symposium was conceived by Prof. Dr. Sabine Foraita, realised with Jonas Bestian BA, Dominique Hennen BA, Laurin Kilbert BA, Nils Krug BA, Teelke Limbeck BA, Jesaja Mayer BA, Sanghee Park BA, Dag Reulecke BA, Maike Röttgen BA, Nadia Scheuren BA, Albina Schwebs BA, Esther von Kiedrowski BA
