Mentoring Men in ECEC
This international research collaboration aims to create the necessary conditions for developing a gender-mixed work force in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC), support the further qualifications of male practitioners, and retain male workers in the sector. To help achieve these objectives, we conduct research, develop mentoring strategies, and implement measures throughout the process of vocational biographies while integrating evidenced-based recommendations to support male educators’ livelihoods, experiences, and narratives across cultures and contexts.
An overview survey will be conducted in all countries to identify challenges relevant at specific stages of vocational careers. Different measures have already been developed for different stages of vocational paths in the participating countries during the past decade. Within the collaboration, such measures will be translated to the participating countries’ languages. Every measure shall be implemented in at least two participating countries.
Until now, the project is self-funded. It will be realized in 2025-2026.
